Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu is a self defence based martial art which consists of throws, locks and strikes which can be performed by anyone regardless of height, weight, or gender. We train in a relaxed and friendly environment. We are based on a traditional art but modernised to reflect today's society.
The collective goal of the Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu Association is to foster the ideals of learning jiu jitsu by testing, experimenting, and adapting techniques in order to improve and perfect them. We maintain the goals of developing character through the perfection of technique, and training with a partner as a way of gaining insight and compassion.
Jiu Jitsu provides physical exercise, builds confidence and is great fun.
We always welcome beginners. Our only restriction is that you need to be at least 18 years and willing to join in.
(We do consider 16-17, but need parental permission to train and we will decide if the individual is suitable to join in, since this will be mixed with the adult class.)
Training is available evenings at our Hampshire and Berkshire clubs
Monday Basingstoke Club
Saturday and Sundays – we are often training at courses around the country.
Sadly Thatcham Jiu Jitsu had to close in 2024 and is no longer after 14 years.
However you can still train at Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu - see Aiuchi.org for more info
